First service as Mearns Free Church |
Our congregation was warmly welcomed into the Free Church today (21st May 2024) during the Tuesday afternoon session of the General Assembly. Scott was also formally accepted by the Assembly as a Free Church minister. Video available |
The acceptance of our congregation into the Free Church is planned for the General Assembly on the afternoon of Tuesday 21st May. That same afternoon Scott will also be presented to the Assembly for interview and acceptance as a Free Church minister. |
At their meeting of Monday 22nd April, the Elders decided after prayerful consideration that on entering the Free Church our new name will be Mearns Free Church.
Many thanks to all who participated in the suggestions process over the past three weeks. |

Our application to join the Free Church was passed at the Glasgow and Argyll Presbytery meeting of 26/3/24. |
Glasgow and Argyll Presbytery are scheduled to hear NMNC's joining application at their 26th March 2024 evening meeting. |
After the service on 17th March the congregation voted in Scott as our minister when we enter the Free Church, and approved all those nominated as elders. |
With the assistance of Free Church Presbytery representatives our congregation will elect a Kirk Session after our morning service 10th March 2024 |
